OracleがSUNを買収！
artonさんの「本物の光の玉が、たかが水晶の玉に食われたのか！」というTwitterを見て？？？となっていたのだがOracleがSUNを買収！というニュースが飛び込んで来た。IBMのSUN買収交渉が破談になったことは報道されていて、他の身売り先と交渉中という話になっていた。AdobeがMacromediaを買収したときも驚いたけどこれは号外級だなあ。

OracleがSunを買収、今年の夏には完了へ
およそ2週間前にIBMやHPがSunの買収に向けて動いていたのですが、なんと最終的に買収したのはOracleでした。1株あたりの価格は9.50ドル（約936円）で、Sunは満場一致でこの売買を承認済みとなっており、この夏には買収が完了する予定です。最終的には発行株数に対しては74億ドル（約7294億円）、Sunの負債分などを差し引くと56億ドル（約5519億円）に到達すると見られています。
ちなみに、Sunの現在の従業員数は3万人で、顧客は160カ国に4万7000社、年売上は130億ドル（約1兆2814億円）。対してSunを買収したOracleの現在の従業員数は8万6500人で、顧客は145カ国に32万社、年売上は240億ドル（約2兆3656億円）だそうです。

Oracle、Sunを56億ドルで買収
米Oracleは4月20日(現地時間)、米Sun Microsystemsの買収を発表した。
Sun株1つあたり9.50ドルをキャッシュで支払い、買収総額は56億ドルに上る見込み。Sun買収を巡っては4月上旬にかけてIBMとの買収交渉が進んでいたといわれ、最終的には金額的な問題で破談したと米Wall Street Journalが報じていた。

Oracle and Sun
On April 20, 2009, Oracle announced it has entered into an agreement to acquire Sun Microsystems (Sun). The proposed transaction is subject to Sun stockholder approval, certain regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions. Until the deal closes, each company will continue to operate independently, and it is business as usual.
The acquisition combines best-in-class enterprise software and mission-critical computing systems. Oracle plans to engineer and deliver an integrated system―applications to disk―where all the pieces fit and work together so customers do not have to do it themselves. Customers benefit as their system integration costs go down while system performance, reliability and security go up.
